چکیده

This review article discusses the experimental and theoretical status of various Parton Model sum rules. The basis of the sum rules in perturbative QCD is discussed. Their use in extracting the value of the strong coupling constant is evaluated and the failure of the naive version of some of these rules is assessed. This work was supported by the Director, Office of Energy Research, Office of High Energy and Nuclear Physics, Division of High Energy Physics of the U.S. Department of Energy under Contract DE-AC03-76SF00098.

QCD Sum Rules and Models for Generalized Parton Distributions

I use QCD sum rule ideas to construct models for generalized parton distributions. To this end, the perturbative parts of QCD sum rules for the pion and nucleon electromagnetic form factors are interpreted in terms of GPDs and two models are discussed. One of them takes the double Borel transform at adjusted value of the Borel parameter as a model for nonforward parton densities, and another is...

Sum Rules for Higher-twist Parton Distributions

In deep-inelastic scattering experiments, there is a general connection between subtractions in dispersion relations, violations of sum-rules and δ-functions in parton distribution functions. It is explained why one might expect a small violation in sum rules for the twist-3 distribution functions gT (x) and hL(x) when the sumrules are applied to x 6= 0 data only. The non-perturbative predictio...

Magnetic moment of the ρ-meson in QCD sum rules

The magnetic moment μ of the ρ-meson is calculated in the framework of QCD sum rules in external fields. Bare loop calculations (parton model) give: μpart = 2.0. The contribution of operators of dimension 6 reduces this value: μ = 1.5± 0.3. ∗e-mail:[email protected]

The effect from quark masses and transversal motion on the Gottfried, Bjorken, and Ellis-Jaffe sum rules is examined by using a quark-parton model of nucleon structure functions based on an improved scaling variable. Its use results in corrections to the Gottfried, Bjorken, and Ellis-Jaffe sum rules. We use the Brodsky-Huang-Lepage prescription of light-cone wavefunctions to estimate the size o...

The light-front gauge-invariant energy-momentum tensor

We provide for the first time a complete parametrization for the matrix elements of the generic asymmetric, non-local and gauge-invariant canonical energymomentum tensor, generalizing therefore former works on the symmetric, local and gaugeinvariant kinetic energy-momentum tensor also known as the Belinfante-Rosenfeld energymomentum tensor. We discuss in detail the various constraints imposed b...
